A group, Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy, and Development has expressed concern over the inability the major political parties to abide by the various peace accords they signed.
Executive Director of the Group, Ambassador Abdulahi Maki noted that Rivers state risked a long term of political instability if political parties and politicians failed to call their passionate supporters to order.
Ambassador Maki told DAILY POST that listing Rivers State as a flashpoint of election violence was as a result of the series of incidents of bombings, shootings, and killings recorded on daily basis ahead of the general elections in the state.
